Abstract

This paper analyzes the degradation of SIS actuator layer by considering an intermediate degraded state between the working and failed states. Sometimes, the current system states are not distinguished perfectly during proof tests. The developed approach consists in using the knowledge of both the system’s functioning and, proof testing nature and its parameters. These parameters increase the complexity of the model when considering the unavailability due to the proof test. This approach has been applied to a study case in order to illustrate the effect of proof testing parameters on the SIS performance.
