Abstract

This paper presents the validation and verification of a novel fixed-wing UAS guidance logic designed to accurately follow paths given complex missions and tight turns with no oscillations or overshoots. Expanding on the existing popular L1 and L2+ guidance logics, the novel Ln guidance logic tracks multiple reference points on the desired path, resulting in a robust guidance logic with anticipatory ability and no steady state errors. The novel Ln is implemented, where several successful real-world flight tests were conducted and compared with L1 and L2+ guidance logics.
